Elopement FAQs

Elopement

Frequent Asks

Eloping is an intentional & intimate alternative to planning a traditional wedding. There’s so many ways to create a unique, true-to-you celebration for just the two of you. You can elope in nature, plan a courthouse affair, choose a multi-day celebration, have a destination elopement, or simply head to your favorite vacation spot to commemorate your forever love.

Making the exciting decision to elope can rise a few curiosities of how it all goes down. When it comes to the nitty gritty of specifics, it’s best to talk through these details with your vendors to bring your dream vision to life. To help with some common planning questions, I’ve gathered a handful of FAQs to scratch the surface.

Can we invite people?

Absolutely! Traditionally speaking, an elopement is just the two of you, but it's not uncommon for couples to have a few guests. If you’re wanting to share your elopement day with a select few, there’s different ways you can go about it:

You can have guests witness your ceremony & share time together afterwards, or you can keep your I Do’s private while joining your guests later for drinks, dinner, what-have-you. You can also opt for a pre-elopement celebration with loved ones on the day-of (such as a champagne brunch), then have a private ceremony & time after alone.

It is important to note that every photographer is different when it comes to their elopement packages. My elopement rate is reserved for "true" elopements without guests or less than 10 people in attendance.

How many hours of coverage should we have?

There are a lot of factors that play into an elopement timeline. It’s best to talk about these details to determine how many hours are best for your intimate day. My elopement package includes 5 hours of coverage, which I personally find to be the sweet spot to cover all of the important moments of your day.

Do you offer planning tips & timeline suggestions?

I have a jam packed elopement guide that is meant to ease preparation stress, offer suggestions for unique ideas, & to steer us in a direction of mutual creativity & understanding. If you go through my info & find yourself still needing guidance, I’m here for you throughout the entire process.

Can you help us with locations?

Choosing a location can feel like a big decision, and you’re not wrong! The setting dictates your comfort levels & the overall feel of your photos.

If you have a location in mind, let me know! I can help you bring your vision to life. I recommend choosing somewhere sentimental to both of you. It can also be somewhere you’ve never been but feel inspired by (a great excuse for a weekend getaway)!

If you’re unsure, I have a great arsenal of locations to suggest.

Do we need an officiant and/or witnesses?

These specifics are determined by the location in which you’re eloping, as every state/country have different marriage laws. After some research for the laws in the location you’re eloping, you can further decide what resonates with you. Some couples are keen on dealing with legalities on a different day as to enjoy their elopement without the fuss/keeping track of paperwork.

Beyond these top frequent asks, my guess is you might have a few more personal inquiries. I’m here to help my couples with any & all questions for planning a surreal elopement experience.
