Session at Malibu Beach

Whenever I get a creative itch, I’ll throw out a life line to the Instagram world to see if anyone is interested. Thankfully the stars aligned juuust right for me to connect with Safeena & Conrad for a dreamy beach session.

What did I have in mind for this session, you ask? I’m 100% sure that I was 100% unsure of what I was doing this day, but I knew I had to create. I didn’t have a grand styled shoot in mind or any particular tricks up my sleeve. This was mid panoramic pancake while I was feeling a lull and the desire to pivot how I shoot.

I’ve been so used to directing and posing couples, that I wanted this to feel completely natural. Besides asking these two to dip their hands in some sand, I didn’t do much but awe and oo at how dreamy Safeena & Conrad were. No posing whatsoever. (It helps that they are both photographers, so they know the drill.)

Being able to create without expectation gives a different freedom than trust alone from paid clients. I mulled over these images far longer than normal, tweaking and editing my style to a fresh look. The creativity for this session was a slow burn and I’m so grateful for S&C for fully seeing me and gifting me their time.
